Controller Support is Coming in Genshin Impact Mobile

Genshin Impact Developer miHoYo has revealed that in the upcoming update 1.3, they will be adding controller support for the iOS version of the popular free-to-play video game. Till now, Android devices have not been mentioned but this is confirmed the news for the iOS version. Till 1.2 update, it is a mobile touch screen game where it was hectic for some users to switch characters on time. Now, this issue will be taken care of in their latest 1.3 update.

The Latest developer’s notice read: “from Version 1.3 onwards, devices that have had their operating systems upgraded to iOS 14 or higher will now support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth Version), Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and iOS-specialized Bluetooth controllers (partial support)!”

Genshin Impact also tweeted on their official Twitter handle :

The wording states that the player must be on iOS version 14 or higher. And the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller will not be supported as of now. The article also states “partial support” for iOS-Bluetooth controllers which means it will support a good number of controllers. But on a sure note, Xbox Wireless Controller or a DualShock 4 controllers would work perfectly.

Game Details

Genshin Impact is a Free-to-play game available on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, PC, and Mobile. The Version 1.2 update “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” recently released and has added new areas, characters, events, and more. The game is also set to launch on Nintendo Switch at a later stage. The official Play store description read, “Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to an element and ruled by a god associated with it. The story follows a twin, referred to as the Traveler, who has traveled across many worlds with their twin but has become separated from them by an unknown god in Teyvat”.
